In March 2002 Edith was rehearsal consultant and wrote the programme essay for Bacchae at the National Theatre, directed by Peter Hall. She also appeared as speaker on a National Theatre platform with Colin Teevan on 20th May 2003.

In 2006 Edith wrote the programme essay for David Farr's version of the Odyssey staged at the Lyric, Hammersmith.
